When you’re told to do something that is outside of your comfort zone it can be hard. It can test your faith and make you wonder if you’re qualified to complete the task. But what’s even harder is when the mission that you’re called to complete is what you’ve been praying for, but came in a package you weren’t expecting.

Sometimes we can pray for God to move in our lives and make our dreams come true. Our hope is that he will whisk us away from our current situation and politely usher us into our calling while we ride on the back of a unicorn. But in reality it happens in a completely different way….trust me, I know!

When God told me to leave my job of three and a half years to go full-time in fashion styling and blogging you would’ve thought I would be ecstatic! I had been praying, counseling, and believing for that moment for YEARS, but the timing wasn’t right (well at least to me). At the time both were my side gig and I wasn’t at a place that I felt I was good enough to do it full-time. Plainly put, they are both my passion, but were not covering my bills and expenses. Yet, on that random Wednesday I heard God tell me clear as day to put in my two weeks notice. My palms were sweating in ways I didn’t know were possible until the moment I spoke to my boss. When I delivered the news it felt like a beautiful spring day had emerged and blossomed in that tiny office. I felt so at peace, and from that moment on things haven’t been the same.

I’ll be completely honest and say that I struggled with whether or not to write this post, because I’m still not yet in a place where I can say that I am “THERE”…..but I can definitely say that I am on my way! God has blown my mind within these past two months and has shown me that even when we think we are not ready, when God says go, just GO! He has literally placed opportunities in front of me that I had no hand in and connected me with amazing people within my industry. I literally had a moment today when I sat back and realized my passion is paying my bills! All I could do in that moment was say “Thank You Jesus!”.

Today, I challenge you to ask yourself “What is God asking of me?”. For some the answer may be to be still and have patience in his timing, and for others it may be to take a leap of faith and follow his path. Whatever the answer may be, make sure to PRAY, COUNSEL, and be OBEDIENT. It may be uncomfortable, but I promise it’s worth it ! 🙂

Your god must be a pervert. Your god must like women walking around semi naked showing off their undergarments. Is your god called Satan? Yes I think he is.

Actually my God is amazing and doesn’t condemn anyone! 🙂 And my revealed “undergarments” are very much a button-down shirt and shorts. God bless you!

Couple of things came to mind when I discovered your blog today.

I recently heard Shawn Stevenson describe in his podcast- beauty as self care & self love (TMHS episode 170). You are doing great work. Earlier negative comment was aptly handled.

Here is a lengthy quote by W.H. Murray that speaks to your new endeavor: ““Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”

Thank you so much for your kind words & for sharing this nugget of wisdom, I truly appreciated it!
