Staircase to Answered Prayers

August 25, 2016

“Dreams don’t work unless you do”.

I recently saw this message beautifully painted on a staircase and had a instant epiphany. All my life I’ve heard the message “pray for what you want and God will provide it” as a means of encouragement in my faith. This statement definitely reigns true, but I’ve noticed that for some (myself included) it can cause a lack of movement.

I can remember a time when I was a cheerleader in high school and wanted to be a tumbler. I had always been a base, but I wanted to add tumbling to my list of skills. I prayed that God would give me the ability to do backflips, front flips and every other flip in the book. However, during this time of prayer I never actually practiced tumbling. I went to a few classes, but never really attempted to make the time to complete the course of the tumbling program. During this time, I was determined that one day I would magically be able to do a standing back-hand spring in the middle of practice to everyone’s surprise and then boast about how God answered my prayer and blessed me with a new craft. That day never came.

I’ve learned that God can and will answer the prayers that we’ve been longing for, however, we have to start taking steps towards making those goals a reality so that He can walk with us along the way and bring us to the finish line. We can’t make a cake without ingredients, so how can God give us our dream testimony if we haven’t given Him anything to work with? The answer to your unanswered prayers are not far away, you just have to start walking up the stairs to discover them.

  • Are u sure thats true? August 30, 2016 at 12:46 pm

“pray for what you want and God will provide it” That statement is certainly not true. Some people want horrible things. Some people want selfish things. Can you show me where it says that in the bible please? Which God are we talking about here? Not sure if you are talking about the Almighty Creator, or the other God who hides behind other guises but is called Satan.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.
But please do not miss the overall message behind this blog post from one quote.
      God bless! 🙂
