Last week I had the privilege to speak at “Girl Talk” an open forum for young ladies ages 14-26. They meet on the first and third Sunday of each month at 9am at Christian Faith Center in Creedmoor, NC.  The purpose of these meetings is to provide an outlet to talk about issues, temptations and struggles faced on a day-to-day basis and offer advice to one another. The Girl Talk motto is, “We are our sister’s keeper”.

During the meeting, I told my story. I talked about how I cam to be the woman that I am today, My story included the struggles that I faced while transitioning to life in New York, chasing my dreams, as well as how God brought me through some of the lowest points of my life.

“Trust God no matter what your circumstance looks like and be obedient to things that he tells you to do.” That was my overall message to the girls. It was so fulfilling to be able to give back and tell of how getting to a point of happiness, in both your personal life and career life doesn’t always come at an easy price. But with God, its worth the journey!

P.S. I apologize for the picture quality. My mother was the photographer using an Iphone camera….no further explanation needed.
