“I just have a good time and sequins represents a good time” – Lady Gaga

Sequins is the one fabric that has the ability to make my eyes pop and my heart skip a beat or two when I see it. “Why can’t everyone just wear sequins all the time?!”. This was my thought after I spotted a pair of Jason Wu sequins trousers while flipping through a magazine during my subway ride a few weeks ago. I mean, who wouldn’t want to incorporate sequins into a business look or in an outfit for brunch with the girls over the weekend?! (I may be the only person who comes up with these random ideas, but whatevs!) All of these thoughts along with my handy-dandy pink notebook (I write down all of my styling/personal outfit epiphanies in it when they come to mind) are what brought “The Sequins Series” to life! 1 gold sequins top, 2 looks (1 business, 1 casual ) and one happy camper (ME!).

Part 1 of the 2-part series is the business look. For this outfit, I paired the sequins top with my plaid pants. Plaid is also one of my favorites! I fell in love with it after Cher and Dee graced my T.V. screen with their pleated plaid skirts and blazers in “Clueless” back in 1995. I’d like to think that they were the pioneers of plaid…well at least in my mind.

To finish this look in true Chrissy Joy style, I layered a black button down shirt underneath, put a black blazer over my shoulders and added a pair of patent black pumps. Red lipstick was also added to this look, ya know, for good measure. 🙂
