Lately, I’ve noticed that the colder it gets here in NYC, the more prone I have been to wear more chill/ relaxed style of clothing. I’m not really a pants kind-of girl, I usually like wearing dresses and skirts. These arctic temperatures have forced me to invest in pants and very thick leggings, because wearing opaque tights with dresses have had my legs feeling like they have frost bite.
This change in my choice of clothing has also given me a new style obsessions. Every month or so I usually find a new item of clothing and/or shoes that I fall in love with, cling to and incorporate into all of my outfits. This month’s new obsession is classic-pointed toe pumps. Recently, I was on the hunt for a pair of black pointed toe pumps just to have as a staple for my wardrobe. I found a pair on sale at VictoriaSecret.com (yep, they sell shoes!). They were so comfy and chic that I bought another pair… in leopard of course. 🙂 Since purchasing my first initial pair I feel like I have creating endless outfits around these shoes. As all of us women know, when you are fortunate enough to find a pair of heels that meet the 3 C’s (cute, chic & comfortable), you must buy more than one! (or at least that’s how I think! lol)
As with most of my looks this month, I based an outfit off of my pointed toe leopard shoes. I paired them with jean leggings, a faux leather-sleeved hoodie, and my favorite faux leather vest. When I first started shooting this look it was a little cold out, but as the sun went down it started to get cold quickly, so I put on my hat that I always keep in my bag to keep my ears warm. It worked perfectly with my look! 🙂

As you all know, sequins, layers and jumpsuits of all kinds are the things that I love to wear. But every now and then it’s good to have a simplistic day that includes a casual outfit that is both comfortable and chic. My usual outfit for a Sunday or any other time that I feel the need to dress up is either a dress or a skirt paired with a blouse or layered top.
But recently while planning for an upcoming photo shoot that includes minimalist/simplistic looks, I was inspired to put together an outfit for me that’s minimal, comfortable and chic. Since I was planning to attend a Dinner/Golden Globe Watch Party at a friend’s place later that evening, and I needed an outfit that could transition from day to night, I decided that the perfect time to wear it would be on Sunday.
I chose to pair a basic long sleeved white t-shirt with destroyed boyfriends jeans. I added a peplum-style cropped trench and pointed toe-pumps to keep the outfit chic.
I also wore arm candy and a gold necklace to complete the look.
Take a gander at my look as well as how my night went!

Golden Globes Dinner Party
Making my contribution to the dinner. My famous brownies 🙂
The final outcome of the dinner. This wasn’t even all of the food!
All ready to eat and to see what style’s head down the red carpet at the Golden Globe’s.
Just in case you were wondering, these ladies dominated the red carpet at the Golden Globe’s and made my Best Dressed List for the night.

It’s the first weekend of the year! I hope that you all have had a fun filled stylish weekend so far, and that you have been keeping warm. There has been snow and ARTIC temperatures here in New York. We had a blizzard on Friday morning that brought 5 inches of snow, so most of my weekend has been spent either at work or at home snuggled up in my blankets! Although I have been bound to the indoors for the majority of the weekend, I was determined to have a day of fun before the weekend ended.
I started my day off at The Rock Church Manhattan. Afterwards, I caught up with my friends Askia and John for an afternoon of catching up. I always know that I will have a good time with them! We ended with lunch at Qi-Bangkok Times Square (Thai Restaurant, very good food).
For my Sunday Attire I chose to layer, because there is no other way to be cute and warm this time of year without doing so. I built my outfit around my favorite snake print skirt. I added a black button down shirt, a faux leather vest, tights, a statement necklace, classic pointed toe pumps and a faux fur snood. Well, it’s not technically a snood but I made it into one. It used to be the detachable fur that went to one my sweaters I purchased a few years back. I just wrapped it around my neck and WAH-LA, it became my snood! 🙂 I also added a Chanel bag into the mix for a little mixed metal action!
Fun times with my friend John (of MaleCritique.com) ! We were wearing matching pants/skirt! Haha
Oh how I love these guys! John (from MaleCritique.com) & Askia (from AskiaAbull.blogspot.com). Check out their blogs too! 🙂
Ended the day with Dumplings & Tea from Qi-Bangkok. So yummy!
