Bloopers!

March 18, 2014

Hey loves!

Recently, I have been going through pictures from all of the shoots that I’ve done during my past 4 months of blogging. While looking throughΒ a fewΒ “Style Diary” photo shoots I found myself literally laughing out loud from all of the blooper/candid shots that were taken unexpectantly. My photographer, Jordan Elias of ForFashionFreeks.com, is the king of catching funny, candid shots of me and others during our shoots.Β After looking through all of the photos, I felt like I HAD to share these with you along with my own commentary, of course!

Click on the pictures below and let’s take a gander at the craziness that goes on during my shoots!

I have been on a fun style journey thus far, and I look forward to many more months of living life, taking chances and bringing style along for the ride!Β πŸ™‚

The Sweater Stories

March 11, 2014

Hi loves!

Happy Tuesday! I hope that you all have been off to a amazing & fashionable week so far! The weather in New York has been slightly warmer lately (50 degrees), so I have been one happy camper! Just the mere thought that spring temperatures are right around the corner, and I can began pulling out my sundresses, short-shorts and rompers are enough to make me walk the streets of NY with a little extra pep in my step and a huge smile plastered across my face. I can finally see the beam of spring sunlight at the end of this never-ending snow tunnel! (Thank you, sweet baby Jesus!)

On Sunday, I enjoyed the weather while spending the afternoon with my good friends after church. For the day I chose to pair my sleeveless midi sweater dress with a grey wrap sweater, complete with a faux fur collar and leopard heels.Β You may recognize the detachable faux fur as the same fur I used to make a snood in my β€œSunday Funday” post. I also featured it in my social media exclusive post entitled β€œThe Chair Chronicles” by flipping it and making it a longer scarf seen here:

As you can tell from most of my post, I love creating ways to get multiple usage out of things that are detachable (i.e. making a headpiece out of a jacket shoulder pad in my “NYFW Style Recap: Part 1” post).Β Although I like to make investments on nice clothing every now and then, I LOVE finding a great deal and making each article of my clothing last longer by mixing and matching, and creating new usages out of just about anything that is detachable.

Lets take a gander at the original look for this infamous faux fur, and how I paired it in a little sweater on sweater action! πŸ™‚

Fringed Love: Vol. 2

March 3, 2014

Hey loves!

Happy Monday! I hope that you had an amazing weekend, and that this week brings you nothing but joy and fabulous style moments! πŸ™‚ Although it’s a new week, the fringed madness also known as my current obsession continues. While at designer, Sheena Trivedi’s Times Square showroom recently I came across 2 fringed pieces that I fell in love with. One of which was a brocade leather-fringed scarf, worn in my previous post. The other was a wool grey jacket with beaded detailing, and a chain fringe-like design hanging from the front. The jacket also has a strip of leather detailing on the back. I first spotted this jacket on one of her models at her F/W14 Presentation. Reference below:

I knew instantly that this jacket had “Chrissy Joy” ingrained within the fabric! πŸ™‚

I decided to style this jacket with looks from my closet. Since the jacket has amazing detailing in the front, I chose a white scoop neck shirt and my high waist grey and black skirt with a front zipper detail. I finished the look with a black pump with a corset design on the heel, and my signature red lipstick.

Take a gander at my take on this amazing beaded-fringe, the Chrissy Joy Style πŸ˜‰
