As a fashion stylist, there are many people and things that inspire your creativity, the looks that you create, and your vision for the way that you want to grow your craft from a freelance side job into your own full-time business and career. There are two women that did that for me: June Ambrose and Rachel Zoe. Both have unique qualities that define their fashion styling businesses- qualities that I love and am using to mold the blueprint of my own business.

Rachel Zoe epitomizes the business layout that I want to achieve- a fashion styling firm in which clients come to my office and are completely styled head to toe from looks that are already pulled and housed at my firm.

June Ambrose epitomizes the mindset and personality that I aspire to have as a stylist- energized and full of character with a purpose for not only transforming a women’s outer image but the inside as well. I want to make sure that my clients not only leave feeling beautiful on the outside, but are confident in who they are and able to own their looks from within.

It’s a conversation that I had with a friend of mine regarding this topic that brought about my look for today! She asked the question “I know that you want to start your own styling firm in the future, but what would that look like? Is there anyone that you aspire after?”. Without hesitation I shared my admiration for Rachel Zoe and June Ambrose. And for some reason, that subject and both women have stayed on my mind for the past few days. So much so that Β I began to add more goals for myself and my styling passion in order to take more initiative in achieving my goals of growing my freelance business into a career. On that same day, I just happened to be taking pictures for the blog! So, I felt it would be only fitting to wear an outfit inspired by the two women that have motivated the styling career model that I hope to have.

While choosing what to wear, I remembered that I had a pair of wide leg jeans that I took from my mothers closet a few years ago. I hadn’t worn them in forever! To me, Rachel Zoe is synanomous with high waisted, wide-leg trousers. To bring on a little June Ambrose spice, I chose a camel-colored brim hat with chain detailing, because as we all know, an outfit is not a complete look to June without adding a fun chapeau to the mix! πŸ™‚

P.S: My plan for this look was to try to pull off that cool engineered wrinkled top look, but it just came out looking….wrinkled. lol It is actually my bathing suit cover up, previously seen in 24 Candles. But that’s life sometimes, things don’t go as always planned. I’ve learned to just shrug it off and go with the flow!

Let’s take a gander at the full look!
