We have one weekend left in this summer, >>> insert surprised & crying emoji face <<<. This summer has truly come and gone in a blink of an eye. My summer included lots of work yet moments of play… no vacations yet moments of relaxation, and a few days of fun & sun during my birthday weekend. Overall I have no complaints about this summer. Although I didn’t have as many relaxing days as I had hoped for, I did accomplish work goals that I made for myself and even finished off the summer by being in the September issue of People Style Watch Magazine! For today’s look, I did not have any inspiration. However, I do have a story/reason behind why I decided to wear it for today’s post. About 2 weeks ago I wore this outfit on one of my days off from work. My plan was to run a few errands in the city and chill out with a friend for a bit before he left town. I didn’t think much about going for this look when I put it on, I honestly was just trying to put together the few clean clothing items that I had left in my closet (laundry day was well overdue). Once I was dressed and entered the city to start my errands it all began. While waiting for the train at a station in Soho a woman walked past me on the platform, looked my outfit up and down and gave me the warmest approving smile. Once on the train I struck up a fun conversation with two women after they complimented me on my sweatshirt. It ended with us exchanging information and hoping to keep in contact. While getting off of the train and walking up the stairs to the street level I accidentally bumped into a woman who was walking with her husband. She quickly apologized even though it was actually my fault, and followed up by raving to her husband about how cute my outfit was. This continued for the entire day! Warm smiles and fun conversations sparked by compliments from my look. It was such a surprise to me that an outfit worn due to little to no clean clothing in my closet, and that was literally thrown on at the last minute is what caused such a fun and bright day for me! By the end of the day I came to the conclusion that I had to share this outfit and story with you all! It’s definitely a testament as to how an outfit planned or unplanned has the power to turn not only someone else’s day, but your day into a bright and beautiful day! 🙂
