Recently I had the opportunity to drop by the Alexis Mabille showroom located in the garment district of New York to view his beautiful 2015 Pre-Fall collection. This Parisian designer who once worked at Yves Saint Laurent, and Christian Dior before starting his own namesake brand is known for his chic incorporation of the traditional bow-tie in his designs and accessories. His Haute Couture gowns have been worn by the likes of Lady Gaga, Dita Von Teese, Zoe Saldana and many others. Mabille’s ready-to-wear designs have the ability to capture the feminine woman through the fluidity in his tops, dresses and skirts. He can also cater to the tomboy-chic woman through his precise cut suits, trouser and jackets.
His Pre-Fall collection was inspired by “the art world’s young guard, specifically the dynamic new generation of Parisian gallerist who live between time zones”. The collection was full of great day-to-evening pieces such as jumpsuits, dresses and suiting separates. Mabille chose midnight blue, purple and variations of violet as the main colors, but also added a bit of floral prints and motifs to the tops.
I noticed that this collection was made for the woman who handles her business, but also loves to have fun with the clothing she wears by playing with fabrics and mixing textures. It was difficult to pick only one piece from this collection that I love, so I chose three! 🙂 The first was a great navy and black jumpsuit that had draping in the front, next was an amazing black blazer, and the last was an adorable floral bow-tie clutch that had my name written all over it! 🙂
Take a peek at some of my favorite pieces from the collection below! Big thanks to Elisa Ly for presenting the collection to me! 🙂

My look for today was inspired by the typical on- the-go corporate woman of New York. Today is Casual Friday at work and she has decided to keep her outfit casual but still chic and office-place appropriate 🙂
Welp, this inspirational trip through Grand Central has been fun! Even though this ride is ending we still have many more to embark on together, so let’s go! 🙂

Today’s look is a continuation of my “Making Moves” Style Video now on my YouTube Channel. This look was inspired by the “downtown girl”, she is leaving Grand Central and headed to her Soho work studio.
P.S : This dress is actually a tunic! I took the sash/band out from around it and used it as a bow-tie in my first look (plaid poncho) ! 🙂

Last Look Coming later this week! 🙂
Hope you all are having a wonderful Monday and that your week is full of fun and fab style moments! 🙂 As promised, I will be providing the outfit details for the look’s from my “Making Moves” style video, now on my YouTube Channel.
During my senior year of college, I completed an internship here in New York.
While living with my uncle in Yonkers I had to commute through Grand Central daily to get to the city. I was often inspired by the people I saw come through the station, so I decided to incorporate this inspiration into my video/blog post. Throughout the video I wore different looks to represent the type of women that I saw come through the station.
The first look (plaid poncho) represented your “fashion girl” that’s headed to her job in the city at a fashion industry. Today’s look is my sweater dress/trench coat moment. This look represents the woman who’s headed to work, but plans to meet with her girlfriends for cocktails and her man afterwards for dinner. She wore a pair of black flats to work, but later pulled out her leopard pumps to spice up her evening look!
Look for the remaining looks throughout this week!
