Life Line

April 16, 2015

Have you ever watched the show “Who wants to be a millionaire?”. On the show, contestants answer a series of questions that are worth a certain amount of money. With each question answered correctly, the person gains more money and hopefully, adds up to their ultimate goal of $1M. Along the way, the contestants are given three Lifelines that are used when they encounter problems answering the questions. They can phone a friend for help, have the audience vote for what they think the answer is, or just skip one question all together. Once you have used all of your Lifelines, you are on your own with no further help from anyone. It’s only you.

This past week I had an epiphany while on the subway train headed to work. Our lives can be like the gameshow (Who wants to be a millionaire). We are born into this world with the goal of fulfilling our destiny/purpose. Along the way, we are given three Lifelines that can be used NUMEROUS times. (Thank God because I would have been out of the game a LONG time ago if I only had three chances!) We use these Lifelines when we encounter problems getting to that goal or obstacles that block us from getting there. The Lifelines are Prayer, Reading the Bible, and Spending Time with God. These resources answer any and every problem that you could ever encounter in life, and will direct you to an alternate route when you bump into barriers that block you on your path. These Lifelines create an actual line in your life that directs your path on where to go to reach your ultimate goal.

After having this epiphany, I was so excited to share it. So, I purposely decided to rock an all-striped outfit to represent the straight and narrow path on which our life-line takes us and ultimately leads us to our God-given destiny! πŸ™‚

Uncharted Territory

April 7, 2015

Hey Lovies!

I hope that you all had an amazing Holy Week and Easter Sunday! Its been about 2 weeks since my last post. I decided not to blog during Holy Week so that I could spend quality time with God. I’m glad that I did, because during that week I was able to really be refreshed and gain a new perspective on certain areas of my life.

I learned the importance of having trusting in the promises of God and having positive outlook on life even when things are not going as planned. At a early age some of us tend to write our plans of what we want to accomplish by a certain age in our lives.Β The age we want to be married, how many kids (if any) we want to have, all the places we want to travel, and what famous people we would like to meet/work with. But then life happens, and all those plans get thrown around and toss upside down. Although you may accomplish all of them, rarelyΒ will it happen in the order you hoped. I am currently in a place in my life where certain plans are being tossed around. At first this confused and upset me, but I later realized that where I am now didn’t happen as planned, but yet the timing was perfect!

This showed me that things in my life will never happen in the order that I hoped, but it will always happen in the timing of God’s great master plan.Β πŸ™‚

Today’s look wasn’t inspired by anything or anyone, because it wasn’t planned at all. I was running around my apartment looking for the pants that went with this look, and remembered that they were still in the cleaners. After realizing my dilemma and not wanting to be late, I threw on my skinny belt and resolved that this was going to be my look for today, and it would have to work…which it did πŸ™‚
