24 Candles

July 15, 2014

Hey Lovies!

On Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 10:48 pm, I officially became 24 years old! πŸ™‚ I am so grateful to God for another year of life with good health, amazing family & friends, and the ability to continue pursuing my dreams in this amazing city (NYC).Β In celebration of this occasion, I had a weekend of activities with a few of my close friends. From a Coney Island adventure, to a rooftop brunch and ending with my Birthday Dinner. It was such a relaxing and fun weekend I definitely had to share it with you all! Every year, I go out and buy different outfits to celebrate my Birthday weekend, but this year I decided to shop from my closet. It saved me so much money and hassle and it also helped me with my budgeting since I am trying to have better money management to save for a new apartment. Shopping can be fun, but it feels so much better when you can play around and re-mix looks from your closet. You will thank yourself later once you receive that which you have been diligently budgeting for. On that note, let’s get straight into it! πŸ™‚

NOTE:Β Although, I wish I had a personal photographer that walked around with me and captured my most memorable moments on camera… I do not… yet! Speaking it into existence lol. The majority of the photos were captured on a Iphone (with the exception of a few), so please excuse the clarity of select images.

Friday: Day at Coney IslandΒ

I’ve wanted to return to Coney Island since I visited my first year here in New York. It’s such a fun place, and I LOVE roller-coasters. The mere fact that it has rides instantly won my heart. My friends and I decided to take a day trip for a bit of relaxation and foolery! Between getting attacked by baby waves, and dancing to a mariachi band on the boardwalk, I would say the day was a success! πŸ™‚ (P.S: Please disregard my beach hair. The possibility of my mane looking even remotely cute becomes very slim once it gets wet.)

Saturday: Rooftop Brunch, Movies & Night Out

On Saturday, I spent the day with one of my besties, Alexandra Berrocal. We went to brunch at a rooftop restaurant called “Catch” in Meatpacking District (THE BEST BRUNCH!). Afterwards, we made our way to a midtown AMC Theatre to see “Dawn of the Planet of Apes”.Β Alexandra isn’t as big a fan of the Planet of the Apes movies as I, but she knew how excited I was to see it, so she allowed me to give her a synopsis of the first movie and went with me to see the sequel! (Good movie, but not as good as the 1st) πŸ™‚ Unfortunately, I was not able to get as many pictures ofΒ Saturday’sΒ Β events other than my attire. It was a very relaxing day for me, and I wanted to really enjoy the moments rather than trying to get a good picture.

Later, that evening I met up with a few friends at β€œThe DL” for a night out and to bring in my birthday atΒ midnight!:)

Sunday (My actual Bday): Birthday Dinner

On Sunday, I spent the morning at The Rock Church- Manhattan followed by a afternoon spent on the couch watching “Save the Last Dance”. πŸ™‚ Later that evening, I met up with friends for my Birthday Dinner at Qi-Bangkok in Times Square. I have eaten there many times and the food is always so good! For my attire I chose to wear my favorite BornMajestic dress and clutch. This is my 3rd time wearing the dress since I first bought it for my college graduation in 2012. I changed up the look in 2013 and wore it for a β€œGreat Gatsby” themed party. I decided to revive the dress from my closet and change the look again for my Bday dinner! (they say 3rd times a charm!). It’s such a comfortable, versatile dress, and I am obsessed with the accordion bottom, so I am positive that you will see a 4th revival of this dress Β in the near future! πŸ™‚Β Check out the online boutique at www.BornMajestic.com (or follow the above hyperlink). It has great going out, everyday chic attire and accessories for the fashionable woman! πŸ™‚

You’re BDay dress is rocking and the earring are paired perfectly…. Complimenting and not competing with your attire. Can you style me for my BDay?
